I'm a little tired of hearing the term Assault Weapon. Did anyone ever own a firearm that was't made to assault something? Let's remove the term "assault" or apply it to all firearms.
There are basically 3 types of commonly used firearms, single shot, automatic and semi-automatic or switchable Auto/Semi-automatics. Believe me they are all assault weapons. I happen to own an "assault" 38 cal revolver pistol. My 38 revolver could be considered a semi-automatic which means it will fire a round each time I pull the trigger without reloading between shots. All firearms were originally made to assault, to kill. Mr. Colt didn't invent the Colt 45 for target practice although it could be used for that purpose and you could also use it as a paper weight, if you choose.
Do you think that these lunkheads in our government will ever understand that it would do absolutely no good what-so-ever to ban firearms. Let's, for a moment assume that all firearms, rifles, shot guns and pistols were outlawed tomorrow. How long do you figure it would take for our industrious population to come up with an equally lethal weapon.
Did you know that a Daisy air rifle or paint gun can be made to be lethal, even more so than a firearm, think about it. They are only mildly dangerous today because that's the way they were manufactured for a particular purpose but..........suppose a paint ball contained a poison substance or biological substance instead of water soluble paint, that could kill instantly with more power, not only the one shot but anyone around them. The same can be said about an air rifle, using a larger bore and larger pellet and more air. It would make the Assault Rifle in the hands of a lunatic look like a toy. Then they will ban air rifles and paint guns, then longbows and crossbows, slingshots and knives. So, lets stop fooling ourselves, you take something away then something else will take it's place. Remember, we started killing folks with rocks and look where we are today. Let's leave well enough, alone!
