Why were the children told NOT to tell their parents about the assignment? Is this a pre-test of attitudes with another test to be given later? Is this part of the data driven education, to monitor the attitudes and beliefs of students? While it may seem far fetched, parent political views are part of the P-20 data collected in data driven schools. Our public education system is a farce, and I'm afraid we have lost it. The day is coming when we will have government schools as soon as they finish screwing up the Medical Insurance system. With what is being taught in schools today children might be better off with no schools. I doubt we would see little difference.

I believe the drug companies got in cahoots with politicians, gave them lotsa money,
and lobbied the school union, and/or forced them to start giving our kids dope.
It has escalated to the deteriorated system we have now.
And at least two-fold......drugs sold for zillions of $$$$ and control of our kids.
Look at our young voters today. No way they would normally think the way they do.

If we old folks ever had any clout, we have lost it. No one wants to hear what we have to say and you are right, we're taking up space. Sometimes I think we oldsters should start a commune in the deep woods, live together, protect one another and live in peace with just our values, our morals, our pets and our guns!
